FAQ
Low voltage questions, answered
Pricing, licensing, service area, and how we run jobs across Phoenix and Albuquerque.
What areas does Icon Technologies serve?+
We're headquartered in Tempe, Arizona and run crews daily across the Phoenix metro — including Scottsdale, Mesa, Chandler, Gilbert, Glendale, and Peoria — plus statewide work in Tucson and Flagstaff. We also serve all of New Mexico, with active projects in Albuquerque, Rio Rancho, Santa Fe, and Las Cruces.
Are you a licensed and BICSI-certified low voltage contractor?+
Yes. Icon Technologies is licensed in Arizona under AZ ROC #351231 (CR-67), bonded, and insured. Our designers and installers are BICSI certified, and our team is manufacturer-trained on Axis, Allegion, CommScope, Ruckus, Milestone, Feenics, and more.
What low voltage services do you install?+
Structured cabling (Cat5e, Cat6, Cat6A), single and multi-mode fiber optic, IP security cameras and video surveillance, access control and card readers, enterprise wireless (Wi-Fi 6/6E/7), data center build-outs, paging and intercom, and conference room AV.
Do you offer free estimates?+
Yes. Every project starts with a free site walk and a written estimate with clear, line-item pricing — no surprise change orders. Most quotes are returned within one business day.
How much does structured cabling cost in Phoenix or Albuquerque?+
Pricing depends on drop count, cable category (Cat6 vs Cat6A vs fiber), pathway complexity, and whether testing and labeling are included. A typical Cat6 drop in finished commercial space runs $150–$300 installed and certified; we provide an exact written quote after a site walk.
Can you install security cameras and access control on the same project?+
Yes — that's how most of our projects ship. Combining cameras, access control, and the cabling backbone on one scope avoids change orders, eliminates finger-pointing between trades, and gets your building online faster.
Do you handle commercial construction and tenant improvements?+
Yes. We work directly with general contractors and building owners on new construction, tenant improvements, and design-build projects. We can join during preconstruction, coordinate with the EC and IT, and deliver low voltage on the same schedule as the rest of the trades.
Do you offer service and repair after the install?+
Yes. We offer troubleshooting, certification testing, and ongoing maintenance contracts for cabling, surveillance, access control, and Wi-Fi systems — including systems we didn't originally install.
What manufacturers do you partner with?+
Axis, Allegion, CommScope, Ruckus, Siemon, Panduit, Milestone, Valcom, AV Costar, Feenics, Isonas, Mirasys, Salient, IronYun, and OnCloud Technologies — among others. We pick the system that fits your scale and budget rather than pushing one brand.
How quickly can you start a project?+
Service calls are usually scheduled within 1–3 business days. Larger installs depend on material lead times and your construction schedule, but we can typically start scoping the same week you reach out.
